Slice from Making Memories

I found my samples from CHA. Slice now comes in pink and the purchase of a pink Slice contibutes to the fight against Breast Cancer.
There are new cards that produce shaddowing and the pink ribbon in the lower left is an example. You can draw with the Slice which does produce thick lines. However, cutting refines the lines. Embossing is fun too. Mirroring is another feature of the new cards.
Cards work on both blue and pink Slices.
Thanks Tara from Making Memories for showing me the possibilities with my Slice!Posted by Picasa

Stay-n-Play Cafe Fun

Yes, A fun day at C&T Publishing. Picture here with Fiska-Friends Ms. Jackie and Diane. We actually did some work. Eating and chatting were priorities, of course.
My dear friends made sure I had enough room for my "stuff", got me a comfy chair so I did not have much trouble with my neck and arm (exactly the same type of chair I'm sitting in here at my computer), and just were a blast to hang out with.
May Flaum and Jennifer N were at the crop, too! "Lisa Pizza" Fulmer and Angela Daniels hosted the event. Also, I met other Fiskateers in person like Melita.
The Make and Takes were great, learned a lot! Wonderful talent there at C&T.
Not too far a drive either, though getting out of Sacramento yesterday morning was a BEAR!

The new luggage

Posted by Picasa
Yes, orange luggage. What else would a self-respecting Fiskateer own. Plus, it is sooo light weight. It also attaches together so it can be pulled with one hand. I'm hoping that this will allow me to travel without too much trouble. A bad left neck and arm and right knee can make travel VERY challenging!

Sizzlin Summer Paper Chase Northern California

I wasn't going to join the Paper Chase today. Joe got a lot of little chores done around the house and our lunch and errands did not take nearly as long as I'd thought they would. I checked and saw Angela, lead Fiskateer, had not travelled too far down 99. I decided that I could easily catch up with her. Not exactly "easily" with two accidents on the road south to deal with. Nonetheless, after finding out I had not missed her by much in Galt -"A Tale in Time" with friendly owner Dale pictured here - I caught up with her and her kids in Lodi. Fun store there, "Memories for the Making" with lots of cool stuff. Some neat glitter embellies Angela and I had not seen before.
Next went to "Katie's World" in Stockton. Katie pictured with Angela and holding a delicious minibook. She is having a class in October and I must attend to learn to make this gorgeous and very fun book! Note Angela's son helping her document her progress in the other photo.
Finished up at Kathie's store "Scrapbook Dreams" which I consider one of my LSS ( Green Tangerines in Rocklin is my other). Loved her make and take page!
Drove home on US 5 wondering about all the cars zipping past at 90+MPH. I saw a lot of speed checks on the road, too. Did not seem to slow them down. What were those folk thinking, weaving in and out of traffic at those speeds?!!! Likely, no thought at all.

Musical Theater

I just love live theater, especially musicals. Intermissions. There's no prolonged sitting. Am comfortable and can really get into the magic of the moment. Good movies are pretty good at it but nothing beats a live performance for me. Went to see Man of La Mancha last night at the Sacramento Music Circus. Hated for it to end. Walter Charles was magnificent as Cervantes/Don Quioxte. The entire experience was great. Loved it all.

Have planned a little light theater entertainment for later this month when Cal celebrates his 76 BD and he and I celebrate 20 years of marriage. That is a long time! Plan to attend Forever Plaid. Should be much fun!

Doing paperwork today. In many ways as I look through things for information I realize that mine has been a life postponed. I had not realized how much work was consuming me until I stopped. Too bad that I had to stop, as I did like doing what I did; but, I realize now that I was just doing too much.

Getting life in order though and that feels good.

Plumber was here today and got the new taps installed in the half bath. Cal is attaching the new knobs and hinges as I write and all will be complete. Nice to have that space in the 21st century and with ADA compliant features, too.

Busy with travel to Fiskateers party in Orlando -fantastic fun and so nice to meet virtual friends. It was a great party Happy 360 Birthday Fiskars! Then, CHA was interesting and it was a blast working with Elena and the other folk from Scrapbook royalty and my 1st Fiskateer friend Anita! The Greek Dinner later that nite with the belly dancing and folk dancing on tables and tossing paper napkins also quite memorable! The Consumer Craft show was fun on Friday especailly with the charity crop with nice classes but Sunday would have been a dud with so many classes cancelled if it were not for the fun class I had making a faux copper bracelet and the dinner with friends at the Cinderella Restaurant at the Grand Floridian!
